Log #18: Mouse In The Toilet

Now on the list of things that people don't want to see when they wake up in the morning, this is certainly one of the things people want to see when they wake up in the morning.

I looked down at the toilet ready to take a leak. What I came across was a live mouse. that somehow got into my toilet, and as now struggling to get out. It's too slippery down there, which meant that thing was stuck. I wish I had a single murderous bone in my body. Because if I did, I would've killed that thing instantly, and flushed it right there without hesistation.

Instead, the solution to fixing my problem involved using one of my crazy Roque Caston Jr random antics. I filled the mop bucket multiple times in order to send it to the bottom of the toilet. Then flush the toilet and send it to the sewers like a whirlpool. Son of a bitch really put up a fight. It took five mop buckets to finally wear it out, kill it, and have that thing go down.

I grabbed some orange juice and tried to down the whole incident out of my mind.

Log #17: Who In Your Social Circle Eats Spaghetti In A Bucket?

I was watching this Japanese anime about a group of teenagers trying to save the world. Your average superhero tv show. There was a scene where one of the characters went to a drive-through fast food restaurant. It didn't display the name, but I was intrigued by the joint. As soon as the lady working there started talking, my eyes started to lighten up.

She said "Hi there. Would you like spaghetti in a bucket where serve spaghetti in a bucket?"

I, for one, was in complete shock when I discovered this. Spaghetti and a bucket were two things I never put together in the same group. Not to mention, you're eating them out of a bucket. And not just any bucket. I'm talking about bucket sizes you get when you're heading to KFC or something. When the character said he wanted two mega buckets, I almost fell to the floor because who eats that much pasta in one day?

Don't even try to bring up a commentary about the ramen noodles. This is different. When I picture eating spaghetti and meatballs the first thing I think of when it comes to where to eat is dishware. Never a bucket. So watching these scenes caused me to play them more than ten times. I wanted to be sure I wasn't and this was a real thing.

Knowing this, I decided to research the other side of the US to find these fast food restaurants that sell spaghetti in a bucket. My curiosity kicked in. The first restaurant that came up is called "By-The Bucket." It's the true example of a fast food restaurant that decided on all things related to spaghetti. I went on their website to check out the menu.

It was love at first sight.

If you're a huge fan of pasta as I am, this menu contains everything you love. It not only serves spaghetti & meatballs, meatballs by itself, meatball subs, garlic bread, etc. The true example of an Italian restaurant. The difference between it and Olive Garden, which is mostly known here in the East. It's a fast food restaurant. You get it and go.

The last location I ever went to that made me get pasta and go was one place and one place only. A buffet. Whether it's at Whole Foods or a ready-to-go restaurant, the people already have the food out on display. The chefs precooked them and they are always fresh. But of course, it depends on where you go to eat it of course.

That for me is a true culture shock for me. It makes me realize there is more in the world that I need to know about. Even the smallest things.

I'm sure there are more restaurants that provide services like this. That's the beauty of life and culture. Discovering new ways of things. I did some research. There are other restaurants that serve this as well. It's mostly a West coast thing due to many of the U.S. locations that serve these things being more common on that side. You'll never know if they come to the East. I wouldn't mind it myself.

Log #16: Don't Stare Or Hover Behind My Back Like A Spy

I understand that there is one thing about making sure your employees are doing their job in order to ensure that they're not getting sidetracked. Employers want to make sure that the people that were hired understand the task at hand. You do your 9 to 5, or maybe even later. They are proving that you're a person there to do a good night's work. However, there is one thing from personal experience that a person shouldn't do.

Monitor a person like a cold walking spy.

Two years ago, I was an intern at this nonprofit organization during the summer. This was at the time they were putting together the AIDS Walk of the year I was an intern. I was having fun at first. I was answering the phones and telling people that I was so glad that they were still contributing to the AIDS Walk, and also going to the event on that date. However, there was one thing that bothered me.

The behind-my-back monitoring.

After three weeks of interning there, I felt like security cameras were monitoring me 24/7. But it wasn't cameras. It was people. Sometimes, the heads of the organization who had nothing to do, would just stand outside of their office and monitor us to make sure we were doing our job. I'm sorry, but I find that very invasive. If you're staring at me for over an hour, then I have a problem with that, I don't want to be monitored. Just let me do what I need to do without thinking the FBI is monitoring me.
