Ben & Jerry's Co-Founder Launches Cannabis Nonprofit for Social Causes

Ben Cohen, CEO and founder of the ice cream company, has started a new nonprofit business selling cannabis products, with the profits dedicated to social causes.

The company named "Ben's Best Blnz," or B3 for short, aims to "sell Great Pot and use the power of our business to Right the Wrongs of the War on Drugs," according to its website.

Their strategy is to partner with for-profit businesses, thereby paying B3 a royalty to use its formulas, packaging, and trademarks. Those royalties to come with a catch. The entirety of those royalty profits, after expenses, will go towards their social mission: getting people convicted of nonviolent, cannabis-related crimes out of jail, getting their criminal records expunged, advocating for marijuana to be removed from the federal government's Schedule 1 list, which includes drugs such as heroin, and investing in Black-owned cannabis businesses.

If you want more details, go onto the website and see the entire structure.

In many cases, I feel like Ben Cohen is trying to do a Paul Newman. The products you buy from this company will be donated to society. The difference is they're giving a portion. After all, Newman's Own has been known to donate 100% of its funds to charity. Let's see how this formula goes.

Free Whole Brick Oven Pizzas for Every Drink You Buy At Alligator Lounge

The East Village’s Crocodile Lounge and its sister bar Alligator Lounge in Williamsburg provide an awesome steal that you would be crazy to take advantage of this awesome thing. This can happen in two different ways. Let me give you my versions.

First Scenario: Let's say you're getting ready to go out and paint the town red with your buddies. Before the festivities begin, you want to do a temporary turn-up before the big event. You want to get a buzz, but also satisfy your stomach with solids before you get hammered for the rest of the night.

Second Scenario: Let's say you're just wrapping up the crazy night, and ready to head home. However, you're far away and you want to consume a meal. I'm not talking about those 24-hour pizza chains where you can get a slice of pizza on your way home. You want a meal.

Then come to Alligator Lounge.

This joint makes it easier by giving away personal pan pizzas with every drink purchase. Bonus: there is no limit to the number of pizzas you can get, so be careful or you may have an extra rough morning.

Do you think I'm joking? Watch this video below.

Prez, a contributor for the media company Thrillist, as well as a host of its popular web series, he went on an adventure to see if this was true about Alligator Lounge. He got his answer and it was true. If you want to come and experience this service, stop by the Alligator Lounge and enjoy a cheap splurge. The address is listed below.

Introducing "Rosewater" By Liv Little, The First Debut Novel Under John Legend's Publishing Imprint

The publishing industry has welcomed a new imprint and new work of literature to the world. Based on reviews, critical acclaim has been given to this amazing debut. As a fellow fan of literature, I couldn't help but share what has been discovered. Here is a brief description of this romance novel that is strongly detailed about finding love in an unexpected place.

Elsie is a sexy, funny, and fiercely independent woman in south London. But several things in her life have gone terribly wrong. She’s estranged from her family; is failing to make it as a poet; and has just been evicted from her social housing. As fierce and independent as she is, even Elsie must admit that being a carefree 28-year-old is proving difficult―and that she’s running out of options.

Juliet, her best friend since childhood, has always been Elsie’s lifeline. So even though they haven’t spoken in months, Elsie is soon snuggled up on Juliet’s couch, back at home among the mismatched cushions and knit blankets.

Between their reruns of Drag Race and nights smoking on the balcony, something surprising begins to glimmer in Elsie’s heart. And as the days turn into weeks and then months, this feeling quickly becomes too fierce to ignore. Will Elsie be brave enough to open herself up to love?

Featuring the poetry of Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Rosewater is a deliciously steamy queer romance from a bold new voice. An electric and captivating debut, Elsie’s story teaches us that sometimes home is not always where we are, but who we are with.

As we all know, Get Lifted Books is an extension of Legend, along with business partners Ty Stiklorius and Mike Jackson’s company Get Lifted Film. This production company produced movies and series including Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, Sherman’s Showcase and the International Documentary Association Award-winning Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children. In a statement, the trio described the production company as a means to highlight “diverse voices that deserve to be heard.”

John Legend shared his love for the release of this debut novel by sharing a video on Instagram. This is the beginning of more pieces of literature that will be released to the world through Get Lifted Books.

"Transformers: Rise of The Beasts" Final Trailer Released

We can't get enough of these robots. Now they're back and giving us a 90s vibe in regard to the visually stunning battle scenes.

Set in 1994, a pair of archaeologists from Brooklyn come into an ancient conflict through a globe-trotting adventure with the Autobots that ties in with three factions of the Transformers race: the Maximals, the Predacons, and the Terrorcons. For the first time ever, the male leads and the director himself are people of color. This is a groundbreaking matter in its own way.

I'm excited to see how this direction is going. Not only because of the new cast but to see how the storyline unfolds. There are so many twists and turns taking place in this trailer alone. In my opinion, I need to make a list of things going on as I watch the movie. This is going to require some serious attention when I go see it.

Who's going to the movies to see more awesome robotic battle action?

Hot Air Balloon Skydiving, Anyone?

It's one thing to skydive after jumping off a plane. Now it looks like people who love to live life on the edge have taken this risky, yet popular activity to the next level. Instead of jumping off a plane, what about jumping off a hot air balloon?

Hot air balloons are completely different from jumping off a plane. These popular things offer a completely different experience than a typical skydive. Everything from the ride up to the landing brings something new to the table. Standing in a wicker basket and floating thousands of feet into the air is quite a bit different than hunkering down in the steel body of an airplane.

Some places will let you do your very first jump out of a hot air balloon — as a tandem, of course! But most hot air balloon jumps require a certain level of certification and training. A “B” license or higher is generally accepted as the standard for jumping out of a hot air balloon.

With the different procedures, extra planning, and higher stakes landings, it’s important to have the knowledge and experience necessary to make the balloon jump a safe one. After all, skydiving is supposed to be fun, not scary

Wendy's Famous Chili Will Now Be Sold In Stores As Canned Goods

If you're a fan of Wendy's Wendy’s famous chili is typically sold hot at its restaurants. Soon, Wendy’s will sell its chili in the canned form at your fellow grocery stores. In partnership with Conagra (CAG), Wendy’s is set to bring what is dubbed the most “beloved chili into homes across the country” in canned form for $4.49. These cans are set to be available to the public this spring.

Like the chili served at Wendy’s, the canned version is said to deliver the “flavor you know and love from Wendy’s restaurants” and combines beef, peppers, beans, and simmered in a tomato-based sauce. One can contain 29 grams of protein, but sodium wasn’t released. It's quite interesting how this is being distributed based on how Wendy's Chili was originally created.

According to the company’s history, the chili was born out of leftover hamburgers at its restaurants, prompting founder Dave Thomas to come up with a creative idea for a “sustainable solution.” If you've consumed this chili at the restaurant before, it'll be quite interesting to see when it's in our kitchen cabinets, and we start prepping it as a snack or an accessory to dinner.

"The Kardashians" Season 3 Trailer Released

It seemed like only yesterday when we finished watching the recent season of this new series. Not only that, but we saw the wedding special featuring Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. Now it looks like we don't have to wait too long for our reality show family to come back. And just like previous seasons, we're going to go through one hell of a ride.

Based on the trailer, we're going to be watching various storylines unfold. Kourtney Kardashian is accusing her sister Kim of using her wedding as a business opportunity. Based on the clips, that explains on Kim's collaboration with Dolce & Gabanna came out of nowhere after her wedding. This leads to a temporary moment of them not speaking to each other until it's time for the entire family to get them together, and talk it out. Khloe is emotionally dealing with melanoma and her relationship with baby daddy Tristan Thompson. Kylie is also having anxiety about being a public figure, which is something she doesn't want her baby to have.

The show will also feature familiar faces. Fan favorite Scott Disick is coming back to the series, which is a delight for people like me. Long story short, viewers are going to enter the next chapter in this famous family.

Log #29: Don't Let Tupperware Go Out of Business

As a lover of domestic items, I personally think there are some things in the world that should never be removed from our everyday lives. This is one prime example.

After 77 years in business, the food storage brand Tupperware is at risk of shutting down. The company announced it was seeking to improve its capital structure in order to "remediate its doubts regarding its ability to continue as a going concern."

That same day, Tupperware issued a going-concern notice after warning that the company might be at risk of closing its doors for good.

“Tupperware has embarked on a journey to turn around our operations and today marks a critical step in addressing our capital and liquidity position,” Miguel Fernandez, president, and chief executive officer of Tupperware Brands, said in the April 7 statement. “The Company is doing everything in its power to mitigate the impacts of recent events, and we are taking immediate action to seek additional financing and address our financial position.

Sadly, things got worse after this public statement. When it was announced that the company might go out of business, Tupperware stock dropped by nearly 50%. Talk about adding fuel to the fire.

My partner and I are personal users of Tupperware products. We sometimes cook three times a week, but if we're very busy, we make a meal that is large enough to last a few days. Due to my freelance career, I'm booked with gigs that require me to be outside for long periods of time. Whether it's working as a brand ambassador or a delivery biker for Uber Eats, I always bring a Tupperware with me in order to have it me everywhere I go.

So I personally don't understand why the common interest in these products is starting to plunge. Everyone needs things in their lives. It's an effective tool with limitless qualities.

In conclusion, we need to band together and start buying more Tupperware. Let's go to the store, pick these things up, open our wallets, and let's keep the company in business. This American-built home product was created by the late Earl Tupper back in 1946, and I personally want to see this iconic business celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2046. I'll be first in line to be part of the celebration. In the meantime, let's do our part and keep this bad boy of a product alive.

Robot Waiters - The Future Of The Restaurant Business?

Depending on where you live, there is a chance you walked into a restaurant, and came across a new addition to the world of whining and dining. In order to increase business, bring us into the future, and take care of labor shortages, robot waiters have been released and making it's public landmark.

These are the features that comes with the robot waiter, one particular model that is

  • 1. New, cute, and strange distribution robots with original and flexible expressions
  • 2. Original touch interaction, the robot has unique touch feedback
  • 3. Voice interaction, multi-mode selection: point-to-point distribution, welcome, cruise
  • 4. Pure laser SLAM scheme without special deployment
  • 5. Ultimate trafficability, a minimum passing distance of 80CM, centimeter-level real-time positioning
  • 6. Independent suspension system at vehicle gauge level, more stable walking
  • 7. Power exchange technology, 7 * 24H uninterrupted operation
  • 8. RGB tri-color light special effect
  • 9. Weight-sensing tray
  • 10. Multi-level scheduling
  • 11. APP call system, call robot assistance at any time.
  • 12. On-site service within 48 hours of after-sales warranty

Establishments are already beginning to introduce these things to the public. In Redwood City, California-based Bear Robotics introduced its Servi robot in 2021 and expects to have 10,000 deployed by the end of this year in 44 U.S. states and overseas. Shenzen, China-based Pudu Robotics, which was founded in 2016, has deployed more than 56,000 robots worldwide.

The main question that comes to people's minds is that will robot waiters be a benefit for our everyday lives, but will they be taking away so many jobs in the restaurant business that would cause a rise in the unemployment rates?

You decide.

Spaghetti & Meatball Filled Pizza Cone - Binge or Blow?

As the world becomes more spontaneous, especially in the food department. Now it looks like a new twist has been added to the mix. Introducing The Spaghetti & Meatball Filled Pizza Cone. It's a fully homemade pizza that is twisted, and placed in a cone. Then you have spaghetti & meatballs stuffed into the center of it. It doesn't matter which ones you want to add first. Just get crazy and stuff them in there.

Afterwards, grab a fork and just go nuts. I don't know if people grab and eats the whole pizza after eating the center or you still use your utensils, and begin cutting them down into pieces.

In my personal opinion, this is a disgrace. Italian ancestors are probably rolling in their graves right now. When it comes to food there are some things that don't come together. One of those things is pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. It's one thing to eat them on separate plates, but combining them? It's unusual and unforgiving.

I made a huge fan of binging, but this would be something I would binge on if I was drunk, high, and malnourished. Then again, this is my personal opinion. Tell me how you feel in the voting poll below.

Jennifer Lopez welcomes Spring with some excellent news! The Hollywood star wants her fans and followers to relax and share a celebratory drink, with the launch of her new cocktail brand ‘Delola,’ available in stores, restaurants, and bars in April.

The cocktail brand begins with three different flavors to choose from, including BELLA BERRY SPRITZ made with berry, hibiscus, and premium vodka, PALOMA ROSA SPRITZ, made with grapefruit, elderflower, and premium tequila, and L’ORANGE SPRITZ made with orange, passionfruit and premium amaro.

“I love entertaining and relaxing and unwinding with friends, but I never found a drink that was right for me. I was in search of something that I could enjoy that fit the thoughtful way that I live my life,” Jennifer revealed, explaining that she decided to create the brand with the purpose of having a drink with “better taste, and fewer calories than traditional cocktails.”

“Something easy, fun, fresh, and delicious. I knew that if I was looking, others were too,” she explained, adding that she was inspired by the “effortlessly elegant lifestyle of the Italian coast.”

So as a lifestyle journalist, I'm certainly interested in trying this out. So do be surprised that I buy this one time, as well as share my perspective on this cocktail.
