The immortal hip-hop icon is going to leave another permanent footprint on society.
On Wednesday, June 7th, rapper Tupac Shakur will be honored posthumously with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next week in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on its website.
It’s the chamber’s 2,758th star and this one will be added under the recording category, organizers said. The rapper’s sister Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur will accept the award, organizers said, while radio personality Big Boy will emcee the event. There will also be guest speakers such as Allen Hughes and Jamal Joseph, director, and executive producer for “Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur,” an FX docu-series released in April focusing on Tupac’s relationship with his mother, Afeni Shakur.
Decades have passed since the rapper's death, but his legacy continues to live on to this day. Now he's going to have a permanent stamp in Hollywood.
